AI

Welcome to the AI page, where you will find all of the information pertaining to our home learning plan. If you have any questions or if you require some support, then please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher. Work packets can be picked up and dropped off in the school's front foyer during regular school hours.

Dear Families,

I want to first take a moment to say Mrs. J, Miss. Gieck and Mrs. Neiszner are here to offer as much support and assistance as we can for you and your child through this new academic journey. The most important thing to remember is that we are in this together.

Inside your work packets will find everything that you will need to help support your child for the next few weeks. Please understand that there is absolutely no pressure to complete things within a set time frame. Take your time, if your child is not ready when you are please wait until they are ready as well. If they don’t complete something right away that is ok too.

  1. Jump Math: Math is always set at the student’s pace in AI. Please work through the book page by page, as Jump Math is designed to build upon previously learned concepts (it makes the understanding of new concepts much easier when they have mastered the previous concept.)

  1. Word Work folders: Spelling packet, Sight Words sheets, Sight Word flash cards and a comprehension sheet.

  • Sight word sheets include a new sight word each week. In the folder you will notice that there are cards paper clipped on both pockets. The left-hand pocket will have cards that your child has not yet mastered. The right-side pocket will have cards that your child has mastered. Please review these cards often.
  1. The last packet is a self-regulation packet. During these unprecedented times we are all experiencing numerous feelings. I STRONGLY encourage you to sit with your child and work through the packet at your child’s pace. Take time to discuss the topic of each page. Doing this will remind your child of all the wonderful tools we use in the classroom to help self-regulate. This packet is not intended to be completed within a few weeks. It is intended to help your child remember their tools, exercise them often and offer the opportunity for them to share what they know!

  1. On-line Learning sights and apps:

These are just a few of the apps that we utilize in the classroom. They offer a computer version as well as apps for download on android and apple devices. There is a world of free educational apps out there! I will be adding to the apps list throughout our journey. Please encourage your child to visit these sites often!

Please remember that I would like this time to be for you and your child to learn together and have fun! You can contact me at angeles.neiszner@ghsd75.ca.

Take care and talk to you soon,

Mrs. Neiszner

Mrs. J

Miss. Gieck
